This July, the Marionettes Chorale, in collaboration with some of the nation’s finest artists, will be presenting a full production of Bizet’s iconic opera, “Carmen”! The producers are issuing an open invitation to talented and experienced instrumentalists and singers to join in this exciting venture.
SINGERS
Interested solo vocalists should send a note of interest ASAP. Where available, an 8×10 headshot (or clear photograph), a resume and/or bio outlining experience, and any audio or video excerpts of them performing are favourable. They should also begin preparing a piece from the role they would like to be considered for.
INSTRUMENTALISTS
Instrumentalists interested in forming part of the orchestra should send a note of interest alongside a resume and/or bio outlining experience, and any audio or video material of them in performance.
SUBMISSIONS
Submissions should be sent ASAP and no later than SUNDAY 27th FEBRUARY to email@marionetteschorale.com. All will be acknowledged and kept on file, but only candidates suitable for the parts on offer will be invited to an interview and/or audition. These will begin from the second week of February, with casting to be completed by the end of March.
There are already some 120 members of the Marionettes senior and junior chorales, so unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate anyone wishing to join us as a chorister just for the production. Consequently, only experienced artists interested in lead solo singing roles and forming part of the orchestra can be considered.
